a valentine's week mood
Happy Valentine’s week! I know this is the holiday that everyone loves to hate, but I’m totally that person that falls for every Valentine’s collection, all of the pink and red round ups, the old school valentines that my kids make for their friends. I love it all! And my favorite part of the holiday? A heart shaped box of chocolates from Russell Stover. I eat one or two every night and it lasts me a week! HA.
A big Valentine’s mood.
My husband and I typically don’t go out on Valentine’s, and instead use the day to love on our friends who aren’t stoked about the holiday. He cooks a big meal, spins some of our favorite records, and sometimes I share my chocolates with our guests.
And while I do love a Valentine’s gift guide, I just don’t think they’re very practical. So I’m sharing a few things I’m loving this week!
Negative Underwear’s Whipped Collection
Whipped Track Pant, Whipped Henley
Yes, I know this is a bit of an indulgence, but this lounge set is insanely soft and insanely sexy. As a person who immediately switches into my soft clothes when I get home, I know I would get so much use out of these. They come in some delicious neutrals, but I love some color for my loungewear. (If the pricepoint hurts, check out these pants and this top — a great comp at a sharper price.)
A Fancy Alarm Clock
Loftie Alarm Clock
I’m on this little bit about not having my phone next to me when I sleep. I put it in our bathroom so I can still hear if the kids’ monitor goes off, but beyond that, I’m phone free in our bedroom and it feels so good. I looked into alarm clocks and they are all so ugly and intrusive, but this one is dimmable, it works without wifi, and it also will lull you to sleep with meditations if you so choose. Steve thinks I’m crazy, but I’m sold.
A Really Good Bag
Tote du Jour
A perfect, buttery leather bag with a dainty strap cinched around the top. It reminds me of the Toteme bag-heard-round-the-world, but a little more unexpected and special. Bonus, it holds a 13” laptop! I love it so much.
A Few Good Jackets
Trench, Denim Jacket, Leopard Jacket
I’m really bad about adding jackets into my wardrobe, but they have a huge impact on your outfit! Adding a structured jacket to your soft pants and sneakers immediately elevates it to a look.
This trench is made with a water resistant material, and is so swingy and perfect for the transition to spring. This is a classic that will work for you for years.
This denim jacket is so chic! It’s slightly cinched at the waist, giving a little definition to a normally boxy cut. Such a flattering update on a closet staple.
The leopard is a statement! But it’s neutral, so it will go with almost everything. Y’all already know this is the one I’m going for.
Okay, that’s it for the week! Love it or hate it, I’d love to hear how you do Valentine’s. Hope you have a sweet one!
xx
