Wow, it is already NYE! We are planning to hit a party at 5:30 (!) and then come home and watch a movie — my idea of a perfect night.
As we finish up the last day of the year, I thought I’d share a few of the things that have made this year special.
Rituals
This has been the year that I’ve focused on living a quiet life and working with my hands. For me, that looks like —
Sunday Supper with our family. We make a massive dinner, mix cocktails, pour wine… it’s a whole thing, and it’s so fun.
Card games! Instead of watching a show next to each other in silence, we’ve found this is a fun way to wind down our days. Especially when we’re playing next to a crackling fire.
Planting a garden, and living that sourdough life. We definitely live in the city, but I pretend we don’t.
Art. I got this guided sketchbook, and this guided watercolor book for Christmas and I’m geeking out over here.
Substacking! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my favorite weekly ritual of putting this newsletter together, and taking time to learn from so many other writers on this platform (, , and are some of my favorites!).
Books
I read nightly before I go to bed, so most of what I’m consuming is easy fiction. I devoured The Other Mothers and The Godfather. And Nora Ephron’s candid writing hooked me right away — she had me laughing and crying.
The Godfather, The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store, I Feel Bad About My Neck, Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table, The Women, The Other Mothers
Outfits
These are the looks I felt best in in 2024. My observations —
TEXTURE: These looks are fairly simple, but all have a good unexpected touch of texture to tie them together. The red velvet shoes with the white overalls. A sweater thrown over the shoulders. A tank layered under a button down. All of those layers give these looks depth. My silk set (bottom left) looks great with a simple heel, but the bow heels gives the look a point-of-view vs. letting the set speak for itself.
PATTERN: Stripes, leopard print, and leopard animals (haaa) are recurring themes for me. They look cool, classic, and not too sweet.
COLOR: My skin is incredibly fair, and I feel like I brighten up a bit when I wear a creamy white vs. darker neutrals. I want to add in more pops of blue, green, and red to my wardrobe in 2025! Those are the colors that feel the most “me”.
EASE: All of these looks are pulled together, but they have a sense of ease. Untucked shirts, wider pants, puddling hemlines.

Gifts & Beauty
People talk about this sweatshirt (above) every time I wear it, and my husband has pushed all of his other sweaters aside. My coziest pick of 2024.
Right now, I’m very into layering my perfumes to keep them feeling fresh. My go-to combos are Jordan’s Perfume + Cowboy, or Cowboy + Santalum.
Y’alls favorite beauty of 2024 — this perfect nail polish and this lip balm (I love the Cherry color).
And my favorite beauty products — this serum and this device. Yes they’re investments, yes you’re worth it. You can use JORDHALO for 10% off.
I’m looking towards 2025 with high hopes and dreams. I’ve got some big things coming, and so does Ranger Station. It’s going to be a big year. And most importantly, I’m so grateful for you! It has absolutely made my year to have you here.
I hope you all have a cozy and festive New Years Eve. Cheers from Nashville! And as always, I would love to hear from you.
What is your best of 2024? A ritual, book, purchase, outfit…
What are your hopes for 2025?
xx
