When I was young, my parents had us dress up in our Christmas pajamas one night and wait by the front door. A limo showed up with our best family friends inside, who were dancing to NSYNC’s Home For Christmas album (obviously). I have never been more elated in my entire life. We hopped in, drove around and looked at Christmas lights, and stopped by Baskin Robbins to end the night. This is one of my happiest childhood memories - the surprise, being with my very favorite people, and celebrating the most joyful season.
As an adult, I feel the weight of keeping Christmastime magical. The season is always wild —trying to get babysitters, get the wrapping done, build the kitchen that Santa is bringing (send thoughts & prayers), buy more groceries, and remember to move the dang elf. But it’s also full of friends, families, neighborhood treats, Christmas jammies, cookies, lights, movies. This season always reminds me what I’m grateful for.
Now, on to what I’m wearing during the most wonderful time of the year…
I wore this to Ranger Station’s Christmas party and while I was a little overdressed, I loved every second eating Chinese takeout and drinking martinis with our team.
I just searched through my email to confirm that I bought this silk set for $350 in 2018, and I’ve worn it countless times since. This look is a great case for the fact that investing in fewer, better things doesn’t mean you have to buy only neutrals!
You can find some similar silk sets by searching J.Crew Collection Silk Safari on Ebay! (I wanted to gatekeep that so badly, but I’m sharing the love and affordable silk.)
She’s ready for another holiday party! This look is so versatile - it looks super pulled together, but feels easy thanks to the denim. When I have an event and don’t know what to wear, I always button up a blazer and call it a day! Buttoned up blazers are always flattering, and super chic. The little bow kitten heels polish this look off perfectly!
Blazer, Denim (I went 1 size up for an oversized fit), Heels (spend vs. save)
I loved breaking up my typical dark winter neutrals with ivory denim and some color on top! It felt like a breath of fresh air on a cozy, rainy day in the office.
Sweater (similar and on major markdown), Denim, Boots (these are similar, these are the save option!)
I wore this to my book club’s Christmas party at a downtown Christmas bar! All the girls wore the cutest little skirts and dresses, but I felt like a million bucks sipping champagne in this look. The barrel leg denim and oversized fit of the blazer feel very of-the-moment (and both are amazing quality for the price point!).
Blazer, Tee (it’s really good), Denim, Flats, Necklace (this one will do the trick)
And my favorite look of the bunch! Simple and chic, with lots of texture from the sweater tee, mesh flats, and leather jacket.
Leather jacket (a cool update and 30% off!), Tee, Belt, Denim, Flats (similar)
Other little loose ends…
In the winter, my skin is always parched and sensitive. I have tried a few heavier face creams that didn’t work for me recently, but I’ve had luck with this Skin Soak from Versed. It’s super affordable and clean, so it felt easy to try!
Maybe even more importantly! I’ve been missing an exfoliator in my skincare line up and I am *so* excited to try this one! A clean formula that cleanses and brightens without tearing your skin — PTL. I’ll report back.
I just found this pouch and I feel like someone needs it (maybe it’s me)! It’s such a wildcard clutch, perfect with jeans and a tee for a casual night out or with a fun dress on NYE.
My current favorite holiday candle that also works for the winter months after Christmas!
Somehow, after this long post, I still have more to say, but I’m gonna table it until after Christmas. I hope you all have the merriest holiday season!!
xx
