outfit issue: 07
Hello! I’m writing to you from our apartment in Bushwick, where we moved our family while we finish building out Ranger Station’s second store in the West Village. It has been a wild week getting everyone packed, roadtripping from Nashville, getting settled in our temporary home and starting to finalize details for the store. Life is full of adventure right now, and I’m along for the ride.

My last year of work coming to fruition <3
Meanwhile, I’m 22 weeks pregnant, and trying to dress cool, comfortably, and professionally. I’m not sure if this is a placebo effect or real, but I’ve found that when I dress well, I feel better and work harder. So putting together outfits like these instead of resorting to leggings has been a worthwhile investment for me.
OUTFIT LINKS
A month ago when the bump was a little smaller. These stripe pants provide a great base for color!

One of those days where it was cold in the morning, and warm in the afternoon, and I had meetings. A blazer is a great substitute for a jacket in the spring! The look is really simple so I added some texture and interest with my shoes (similar) and necklace.

I’ve had this shirt for 10 years, and it still hits every time I wear it. It’s the perfect extra layer in lieu of a denim jacket, which I find kinda boring and stereotypical these days.

A comfy work from home day! Never underestimate the power of a cotton sweater in the spring. It truly works all day long, as the temps do their thing. I get a lot of mine from Gap because they are great quality, the price is right, and they have so many styles to choose from! My current fave is this one for a little pop of color.

You can recreate a look like this with the black slip dress I’m almost certain you have in your closet! I added layers of necklaces to keep this feeling more summery and fresh, and I’ve been getting so much use out of my little khaki bomber!
Side note: I bought this slip dress and this jumpsuit when I got pregnant, and they feel like a soft hug… I cannot tell you how nice it is to have a break from clothes that only sort of fit. I bought mine secondhand — there are always good options here!
OUTFIT LINKS
This is “The BIG Shirt” from Gap and I l-o-v-e it for quite a few reasons:
The colors make me so happy! They’re bold, but the pink stripe feels so wearable and easy set into a familiar blue color.
The fit is so good. I’m wearing my try size, XS, and it covers my little basketball belly easily. I’ll be able to wear throughout my pregnancy and after! So take your true size for a perfectly relaxed fit.
There are also matching pants or shorts!!
The fabric is great quality and doesn’t get those unnecessary wrinkles that some cotton poplin does.
It will work so well as a cover up (on its own or with the matching bottoms) in the summer.
Hope you feel my enthusiasm here. It’s a good shirt.
And the real reel — this is what I’m wearing today. These pants that are a gift from God himself (highly suggest, pregnant or not!), and my cutest little sweater tee that elevates everything I pair it with. And my trusty LL Bean slippers (replaced my Uggs and never looked back).
That’s it for me! What is in your closet that has made it easier to get dressed this spring? I would love to hear what you’re wearing right now.
xx
