the august issue.
How is it already August? My kids are back in school, and we’re in that weird in-between time where we’re swimming on the weekends and up at dawn packing lunches on the weekdays. We’re soaking up every bit of sunshine, and yet I’m still starting to think about fall. It kinda feels like this…
Piles of books, slathering on sunscreen, stacks of summer bracelets, buying new boots, eating every single meal on our back porch. It’s a good mix of everything, and I’m so here for it.
I’ve pulled together my issue of August finds and not to brag but they are awesome. Gonna highlight a couple of favorites below!
THE BATHING SUIT WE ALL NEED
I don’t say this lightly, because I don’t like to push things on people and you probably have some great suits. But this one is different. This brand is founded by athletes (aka it’s made for movement). They actually dressed the Canadian volleyball team! So they know what they’re doing. The fabric is buttery, the cut is chic (and actually covers your bum), and the suit holds you in yet it’s insanely comfortable. I have the two piece (top and bottom) that I have never gotten more compliments on, and this one is my next purchase. Swimsuit, $180
A PERFECT TENT DRESS
Listen. I want to branch out into swingy girly dresses, but the reality is, this is my jam. I love a dress I can throw on and go. This one is just so swishy and cool, and I love the drawstring detail at the bottom. I will style it with some chunky sandals now, and throw on a sweater and flats with it in the fall. Perfect Dress, $135
MULES! ARE! BACK!
If you’ve been wearing mules the past few years, you’re not wrong. But I’m starting to see so many pop up, and am excited to wear something like this instead of throwing on ankle boots all the time. These are a great transitional shoe that you can really wear year-round (if you’re in the south like me). And I think these are so much easier to style than ankle boots because you don’t have to deal with the length of the boot. Super quality, super cool shoe. Outlaw Mules, $198
WRAP PANTS
Wrap pants sound intimidating, but I promise they aren’t because the pants do the talking! These are great for those days when you don’t know what to wear. Throw on a tank (these from Target are my fave!), these pants, and some flat sandals and go. I would wear these with some boots and an oversized sweater tucked in when it cools down. Easy breezy. I love these so much. Wrap Pants, $135
THE COZIEST SWEATER DRESS
I love STAUD for their quality. Anything I have from them has become a staple in my wardrobe. This dress comes in a beautiful chocolate brown, but I love the stripe! When the temperatures cool down, put this big ole leather jacket over it and go get em! Dress, $395
Okay! I’m going to stop there, but I want to keep going. Go shop the full August issue HERE, and don’t miss amazing things like this $24 cotton top (quality is tested and approved!), this reversible coat, and my favorite little pitcher and glasses for hosting.
Let me know if you find anything you love! I am practicing self control over here.
